WELCOME!        Dear Visitor Dr Péter Székely PhD Rector I am deligted to introduce you to Szolnok University College. One of the most important decisions you will take in your life is to choose a university at which to pursue your higher education. Since its foundation in the late 1970s, Szolnok University College has seen spectacular growth developing into a leading institution in its training fields on the central part of Hungary. As Rector, I am proud of the record and achievements of the past decades: the popular, practice-oriented courses duly appreciated by the labour market, the excellent foreign language training, our highly qualified and dedicated staff with a can-do attitude and creativity but I am also committed to their continuing enhancement and future development into a regional player on the eastern fringes of the European Union. At present, we are state funded, medium-sized institution with high quality facilities where we treat each of our students as an individual providing a supportive and enjoyable environment. It is both hard work and fun to be a student with us. The study programmes and extracurricular activities give you the chance to develop the skills the modern workplace needs: teamwork, problem solving and good communications. The internationalisation of the college includes increasingly the option to study or complete your practical placement abroad for part of the programme. THE INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS OFFICE   THE CENTRE FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDIES   The International Relations Office and the     Centre for International Studies are major tools in the internationalisation process of our college boosted by the introduction of two Bachelor Degree courses in 'International Business Administration' and 'Tourism & Catering' taught entirely in English and launched at our Faculty of Business in September 2006. Dr László Kacsirek PhD Director for International Relations Our International Relations Office together with the Centre for International Studies are awaiting your questions and inquiries in any matter related to the programmes that you cannot find the answers to on the following pages.   The BA programmes mirror the Hungarian courses recently accredited on the recommendation of the Hungarian Accreditation Board fully in line with the requirements of the Bologna Process aimed at harmonising higher education in the European Union.
